Citynet Insurance Brokers contribute towards Cobra London Markets charity project to keep “The Blood Bikers” wheels spinning for an entire year!

Here at Citynet Insurance Brokers, we are no strangers to helping our community with every chance we get. Throughout 2019, we have been sponsoring local youth sports clubs in the UK and Ireland (football, rugby, boxing), school holiday clubs, etc.

This time, we have risen to the challenge of helping the community yet again by contributing towards Cobra London Markets’ chosen charity – SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers)  to raise sufficient money to sponsor a blood bike’s fuel costs for a year.

SERV is the name used by a number of blood bike charities based in England, whose volunteers provide a motorcycle courier service, free of charge, to the National Health Service and the air ambulance charities. Their volunteers work outside normal office hours and use either their own or the charity’s dedicated response motorcycles to transport items such as blood for transfusion, blood samples for pathological or microbiological analysis, drugs, patient notes, x-rays, scans, medical equipment, samples, vaccines and donated human breast milk.

The Blood Bikers are totally funded by public donation and Citynet together with Cobra London Markets saw an opportunity to help the community when it needs it most.

Cedar Hall School Holiday Club

Cedar Hall School holiday club is a summer club set up by a group of adults who work in Cedar Hall School. They had their previous funding rejected due to recent government cutbacks, and as a result, Citynet Insurance Brokers have lent a helping hand. Our community is at the heart of what we do and we always welcome the opportunity of giving back when the need arises.

“Cedar School holiday club was started many years ago. We were mainly inspired to start the club because some of our children often struggle to communicate their feelings and don’t find it very easy to make friends outside of school. Our parents also need some respite, as behaviours can be different (often more difficult to manage) at home.  The children also like the routine of familiar surroundings and adults they know” commented Mrs. Sharon Hoy – Club supervisor.

The Club provides many fun activities where the Cedar Hall School children aged 8-18 are welcome to spend their summer holiday term.

• Sports
• Quiet activities

This club will also provide particular support for families whose children struggle with school, or have difficulty making friends by linking children up with an individual one-to-one allocated staff member who supports them to access the sessions and build friendships with other children.

Citynet Insurance Brokers are proud to sponsor yet again Hatfield Peverel football team.

“Although the team had been successful at youth level and with the Club fully behind us, it was decided to move from Youth into a Men’s Adult League (Pope and Smith Sunday League). This was always going to be a big step playing against more established and experienced teams. However, the team adapted from day one, continuing to play attractive football and finishing as runners up and promotion for next year” commented Steve Harding – Manager of Hatfield Peverel ‘A’ Football Team.”

Citynet sponsors Springfield Football Club under 14’s girls team

It is no secret that here at Citynet Insurance Brokers, we love being engaged in the community life. This is demonstrated by supporting numerous sporting clubs that need a bit of extra help to support kids to do what they love most. Our latest sponsorship goes to Springfield Football Club in Chelmsford, Essex and more exactly to the under 14’s Girls Football team.

Springfield Football Club has a long and proud history of providing football in the community. Founded in 1935, the club moved from its previous home at Pollards Meadow to a new, purpose-built clubhouse and ground at Springfield Hall Park, in 2002.

The club continues to grow and is represented in the Essex Olympian League, The Essex Veterans League, The Chelmsford Sunday League, The Chelmsford Youth League, Blackwater & Dengie Youth League, Brentwood Community Football Alliance, and the Essex County Girls Football League.

The club provides football for ages from 6 years up to our Veterans Over 45’s and at all ages in between. We are especially proud to be an F.A. Charter Standard Club and are run entirely by volunteers.

The Girls Under 14’s team are in their 5^th season and they won their first cup last season, the Under 13’s Presidents Cup. The club now has girls teams from the ages of under 8’s to Under 14’s. They also currently run 33 junior boys teams.

Getting involved in community life has always been very important to Citynet. We are proud to mention our latest sponsorship for the East Grinstead Rugby Club and we wish them the very best of luck in their future games.

East Grinstead Rugby Club was established in 1929 and are one of the largest Rugby Clubs in Sussex.

Operating from superb facilities at Saint Hill East Grinstead in West Sussex, the club is proud of its heritage and Community Rugby ethos.

With 1,600 members, 90 Senior players and over 150 Minis and Juniors, the club consistently field 3 Senior Teams, Ladies Team, girls Team, a mixed touch team and under 6’s all the way through to Colts.

Citynet Insurance Brokers is proud to sponsor the Na Piarsaigh Hurling & Football Club Under 13 ’s team. This is yet another great example that here at Citynet we are very much involved in our community activities’ and we take immense pleasure in supporting it as much as we can.

Na Piarsaigh Hurling & Football club was founded by a group of schoolboys from the North Monastery School in 1943.

• The club won its first trophy by winning the Junior City Hurling title in 1947.
• Success at County level followed with the Junior title in 1953.
• The Senior Hurling title was won for the first time in 1990 with subsequent wins in 1995 and 2004
• The Kilmacud Crokes All Ireland Hurling sevens winners in 1992.
• In 2006 the clubs Under 14 hurlers won the All Ireland Christy Ring Trophy for a record sixth time.

D.I.S.C.O Balls rugby team has played again this year in the Men’s Open Competition at the Kinsale Rugby 7s!

Citynet Insurance Brokers were delighted to sponsor The D.I.S.C.O. Balls Rugby team that entered the Men’s Open competition for the second year running. They played an amazing and very competitive rugby yet again and we are very proud of their achievements.

Kinsale 7s, Ireland’s largest rugby festival based in Kinsale, Co. Cork, takes place every year over the first May Bank Holiday weekend.

D.I.S.C.O. Balls Rugby (made up of players from Haywards Heath Rugby Club in Sussex) are already planning to go back to Kinsale next year and look forward to having the same sponsor support from Citynet and others.

A new year has started and here at Citynet Insurance Brokers, we are continuing to support our community with every chance we get.

Our latest sponsorship was offered to Hatfield Peverel U17’s, a football team based in Essex. They currently play in the Blackwater and Dengie Youth League Division 1 and are in the League Cup final in March, competing for the top place in the league.

Steve Harding, HPFC U17’s Manager, commented “We truly appreciate your support and your very generous donation enabled us to purchase full tracksuits featuring both the CITYNET and Hatfield Peverel logo’s. I have received many compliments from both the players, parents and spectators regarding how professional the team looks, and considering the recent weather they have been used at both training sessions and match days.”

Citynet Insurance Brokers sponsors Erne Boxing Club

The Erne Boxing Club founded in 2008 is a cross-community voluntary organisation that has benefited greatly from the support of Citynet Insurance Brokers Limited.

The club is based in Derrylin (a small village in a rural part of Northern Ireland) but has a unique catchment as it pulls in members from all towns across Co Fermanagh and cross border from Co Cavan in the Republic of Ireland.

Despite its rural location the club now boasts a large membership base with 30 registered boxers, 18 young kids (aged 5-10) in their boxing academy and further 10+ mature members attending a keep fit club.

The club has a socially diverse membership base with participants from all sides of the community including socially disadvantaged groups such as members of the Irish Travelling and Foreign National communities.
